Environmental Enrichment After Stroke – From bench to bedside: Where are we up to?

Dr Heidi Janssen is an experienced physiotherapist and researcher working in the field of stroke rehabilitation and recovery research. She is a NSW Health Early Mid Career Clinical Research Fellow 2017-2020 and Chief Investigator of Service Change and Supporting Lifestyle and Activity Modification after TIA (S+SLAM-TIA), as well as trial co-ordinator for Altering the Rehabilitation Environment to Improve Stroke Survivor Activity (AREISSA), a phase II trial to determine safety and feasibility of an enriched environment during inpatient rehabilitation.
She continues to work clinically as a senior physiotherapist running exercise and education programs for stroke survivors in the Hunter New England Local Health District Community Stroke Team.
