Melissa established MRI in 2005 after recognising the need for a mobile rehabilitation service providing expert and personal therapy in Sydney. Melissa has extensive experience in neurological rehabilitation specialising in stroke and other movement disorders. Melissa has worked in a variety of rehabilitation settings both here and overseas and has been a senior physiotherapist supervising and teaching junior staff for over five years.

Lynn moved to Sydney and started working for MRI in August 2008. Lynn has been a senior physiotherapist for several years working in large teaching hospitals and in community settings in the North of England and in London. Lynn's special interest lies in the field of adult neuro-rehabilitation. Lynn has taken on our expanding professional development division.

Ian has a broad range of experience in both inpatient and outpatient neurology and aged care settings. He has worked in large teaching hospitals in both Australia and the UK. Ian previously worked for Multiple Sclerosis Australia following his involvement in many programs for multiple sclerosis management and rehabilitation whilst in the UK. Ian has a particular interest in neurological rehabilitation in the community setting.

MEGAN KIPPS MSC (Phty)

Physiotherapist
BSC Honours Psychology University of Nottingham 2003.

Megan recently joined our team having moved from the UK. Megan has experience in aged care and neurological rehab as well as hydrotherapy and respiratory treatment. Before doing physiotherapy, Megan graduated with honours in psychology. Megan has a special interest in psychological conditions and the associated physical treatment. She is a welcome addition to our growing team and has run four marathons, just for fun!

LEONA ROBINSON

Leona has gained extensive experience in a wide variety of fields including aged care and neurology. She has held numerous roles in acute and rehabilitation hospitals working in inpatient and outpatient settings and has over five years experience working with adults and children in the community setting. Leona enjoys working with clients within their home environments to promote safety and independence. Leona's skills include manual handling, equipment prescription, home modifications and case management.

Sophie is an experienced occupational therapist who has worked extensively in the fields of aged care and neurology; both in acute hospital settings and in the community. She specialises the assessment and treatment of adults with newly acquired or long term physical or cognitive impairments, and aims to facilitate independence, function and safety in the home environment. Sophie's skills include equipment prescription, home modification, functional rehabilitation, education/ training and case management.

In addition, Sophie is a qualified Remedial Massage therapist who can provide treatment to clients for the relief of symptoms associated with muscle tension. Massage can be used to treat a variety of physical and psychological conditions, and is a great tool for the relief of stress.

LORNA JACKSON

Lorna specialises in orthopaedic and musculo-skeletal disorders and brings with her 15 years of private practice experience treating spinal, sports and orthopaedic cases. Lorna has specialised in the area of occupational rehabilitation over the last two years providing exercise to injured workers. Lorna believes in an active approach to treatment and has a special interest in exercise prescription.

CAROLE GRIDLEY

Carole brought her nurturing touch to Advance Rehab Centre in March 2009. Carole has been practising remedial massage, pregnancy massage and aromatherapy for more than 10 years and has taught courses in massage and aromatherapy at TAFE schools and supervised student clinics for the last three years. Carole is passionate about the therapeutic benefits of massage, particularly when enhanced with aromatherapy. Carole has recently completed a course in Oncology Massage and has added this to her broad range of qualifications.

Darren specialises in the orthotic management of complex neuro-muscular disorders. He has extensive experience in the prescription of pre-fabricated and custom made orthoses used for many musculo-skeletal and neurological diseases including 'walkaid', 'Bioness" and 'stance control'.

Darren was previously the Chief of Orthotics at St Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne and has a special interest in orthotic management for post-polio and other lower motor conditions.
