
Melissa established Mobile Rehab Innovations in 2006 and Advance Rehab Centre in 2009 after recognising the need for a rehabilitation service providing expert and personal therapy in Sydney. Melissa is one of three clinical specialist neurological physiotherapists in NSW and has extensive experience in neurological rehabilitation. Her primary interests are in stroke and other progressive movement disorders. Melissa has worked in a variety of rehabilitation settings both here and overseas and has been a senior physiotherapist supervising and teaching junior staff for over ten years.

Lynn moved to Sydney and started working for Mobile Rehab Innovations in August 2008. Lynn has been a senior physiotherapist for several years working in large teaching hospitals and in community settings in the North of England and in London. Lynn’s special interest lies in the field of adult neuro-rehabilitation. Lynn has taken on our expanding professional development division and management of our growing therapy team.

Louise moved back to Sydney in January 2010 from Bathurst where she worked as a Senior Rehabilitation Physiotherapist in the Bathurst health service rehabilitation unit for over 2 years. Louise started her training at St Vincent’s Hospital and has pursued her passion for adult rehabilitation in regional centers, Bathurst and Orange. Louise has developed her skills, especially in neurological rehabilitation, attending specialist courses in both NSW and Victoria.

Lorna specialises in orthopaedic and musculoskeletal disorders and brings with her 15 years of private practice experience treating spinal, sports and orthopaedic cases. Lorna has specialised in the area of occupational rehabilitation over the last two years providing exercise to injured workers. Lorna believes in an active approach to treatment and has a special interest in exercise prescription.
Amanda joined the MRI team in April 2008. She specialises in musculo-skeletal disorders, having extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of all spinal, sports and orthopaedic injuries. She previously owned her own busy Private Physiotherapy Clinic for 14 years until December 2007. Amanda believes in a hands on approach with an emphasis on functional exercise programs.

Michelle spent her formative years at Westmead and Parramatta Hospitals before moving on to roles in Aged Care Facilities. Although Michelle has worked in most fields of physio, her specialty and interests lie in geriatric rehabilitation and neurology. Michelle enjoys working with older members of the community and doing what she can to enhance their mobility, confidence and outlook.

Michelle has spent the majority of her working years as a senior inpatient Physiotherapist in Sydney. Michelle’s special interest is in Orthopaedic and Neurological Rehabilitation, in particular in the home environment. She has gained experience in treating a range of conditions including group physiotherapy sessions such as running gym exercise classes and hydrotherapy. She also has an interest in Paediatric Physiotherapy and has worked in the post natal area. Michelle enjoys working on client focused goals to maximise function.

Gilly qualified as a physiotherapist in the UK in 2004 and worked in the national health service before moving to New Zealand where she worked for 5 and half years. Gilly has focused on neurological physiotherapy since 2007 and worked as a private community based therapist in Auckland for 3 and half years before moving to Sydney. She has experience working with a wide range of neurological conditions and amputees. Gilly is passionate about her work, and has a strong knowledge base in hydrotherapy, serial and combination casting, and exercise prescription. Gilly is also a International qualified Nordic Walking instructor, and uses Nordic Walking to help with gait re-training, walking confidence and cardiovascular exercise in the neurological population.

Tricia joined our Mobile Rehab Innovations Team in 2009 having worked for many years providing palliative care physio at St Vincent’s Hospice. Tricia has spent over ten years working in private practice doing slow stream rehab and general outpatient physiotherapy. Tricia has a special interest in geriatrics and domicillary Physio. She has been involved in implementing falls prevention programs in aged care facilities in the Eastern Suburbs as well as manual handling education for nurses both in these facilities and in the community.

Malia joined our team in September 2010 having returned from working in India and Bali. Malia has a special interest in musculoskeletal rehab and has worked extensively with dancers both here and overseas. Malia enjoys using an active approach to injury management which includes use of both exercise programs and manual therapy. We welcome Malia and her bubbly nature to our growing team!

Lyndsay started her physiotherapy career in England and specialises in adult neuro-rehabilitation. Lyndsay has extensive experience working with people with acquired brain injury and trained in a regional rehabilitation unit and at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosugery, in London. On moving to Sydney in 2004 she worked in the Westmead Brain Injury Unit, and later in the community rehab setting. She joined the team in January 2012.

Aimee joined our team in January 2012 and specialises in adult neurological rehabilitation. Aimee started her physiotherapy career in the United Kingdom and has worked in specialised inpatient and domicillary based neuro-rehab programs in England, New Zealand and Australia. Aimee believes in an active approach to rehabiliation and enjoys working with clients to achieve their goals and optimise their day to day function.

Sabine joined the MRI team in February 2012 and has a special interest and expertise in adult neurological rehabilitation. She has worked as a senior physiotherapist in neurology in a large London teaching hospital and after returning to Sydney, worked for 7 years in rehabilitation and aged care at Mona Vale Hospital, primarily with outpatients and home-based clients. Sabine is passionate about helping people improve the way they move so they can achieve their goals.

Jan first worked for the Cerebral Palsy Association before traveling to the UK and working in the Channel Islands. On returning to Australia she ran her own Private Practice for 26 years. After selling her practice, Jan worked for the Royal Flying Doctor Service delivering physiotherapy services to the far western districts of NSW. Jan joined our team in early 2010 to pursue her interests in musculoskeletal conditions, specifially, management through hydrotherapy.


Laura Bodycoat is a qualified Occupational Therapist who has a particular interest and professional background in brain injury and neurological rehabilitation. Laura has worked in rehabilitation settings in NSW and Victoria for the past seven years, working with patients at home, in the community and in the workplace.
Laura is passionate about assisting people to achieve their rehabilitation goals by providing individual assessments and treatment plans.

Darren specialises in the orthotic management of complex neuro-muscular disorders. He has extensive experience in the prescription of pre-fabricated and custom made orthoses used for many musculo-skeletal and neurological diseases including ‘walkaid’, ‘Bioness” and ‘stance control’. Darren was previously the Chief of Orthotics at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne and has a special interest in orthotic management for post-polio and other lower motor conditions. Helga Hemberger is a Clinical Psychologist who provides specialist psychology services at ARC. She provides neuropsychological assessment, cognitive rehabilitation, behavioural programs and psychological treatments for people with neurological injury, illness or disease, their family and carers. Helga has worked in various neurology and brain injury rehabilitation settings including at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London. She is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society, Australian Society for the Study of Brain Impairment and the International Neuropsychological Society.

Peta has extensive experience in the application of acupuncture and Chinese medicine for many conditions including neurological rehabilitation. Peta draws on her background as a personal trainer and rehabilitation trainer and incorporates a comprehensive program for neurological rehabilitation through the combination of classical acupuncture, modern medicine and exercise.

Carole brought her nurturing touch to Advance Rehab Centre in March 2009. Carole has been practising remedial massage, pregnancy massage and aromatherapy for more than 10 years and has taught courses in massage and aromatherapy at TAFE schools and supervised student clinics for the last three years. Carole is passionate about the therapeutic benefits of massage, particularly when enhanced with aromatherapy. Carole has recently completed a course in Oncology Massage and has added this to her broad range of qualifications.

Claire is a professional Healthcare Manager with nearly 20 years experience within the medical arena. She has a particular interest in the development of healthcare accreditation, standards, quality assurance and ensuring a high standard of patient care.

Eileen joined us as Receptionist in August 2010 having had a long and varied career in administration. With a keen interest in helping people, she is also qualified as a transpersonal art therapist and is available for one-to-one art therapy sessions by appointment. Eileen brings to the centre both a warm welcoming experience and a creative counselling service. We are very pleased to have her as a member of our team.

Jennifer joined us as a receptionist & admin assistant part-time in March 2009. With an interest in gardening, it is thanks to Jennifer that all of our plants are so well tended to and the centre reception has such a warmth. Jennifer also brings with her a range of knowledge and skills with outside interests including stock trading, golfing and travel.
